Impact
Helped the project team distinguish vibration likely generated inside the building from vibration coming from nearby construction.
Challenge
Construction next to 228 East 56th Street required vibration observations at the building and its equipment rack.
STRAAM approach
STRAAM monitored the basement wall and first-floor equipment rack using two triaxial accelerometers at 200 samples per second, with data transmitted to STRAAM Live.
Result
The monitoring records showed patterns consistent with both internal and external sources, helping the team interpret vibration during the monitored period.
