Impact
Provided a post-earthquake reference for the arena and documented how its roof and attached areas responded together.
Challenge
After the Kaikōura earthquake, the arena’s roof and attached-area behavior needed assessment despite restricted roof access.
STRAAM approach
STRAAM collected instrumented measurements during a five-hour campaign using five triaxial accelerometers at 200 samples per second.
Result
The work gave the project team a record of the arena’s response after the earthquake. Restricted roof access limited the areas that could be examined.
