Challenge
The bridge assessment covered 16 concrete spans and examined their dynamic response and load behavior; coupled modes limited impact-test damage identification.
STRAAM approach
STRAAM used dynamic measurements, impact tests, and loaded-truck testing on spans 1–8 and 12–19, then prepared the final Phase II report for the engineer’s model calibration.
Result
The final report identifies a first vertical bending frequency near 6.7 Hz; 128 girders were impact-tested. Impact testing was inconclusive for damage identification, and Phase II superseded the earlier interpretation.
