Impact
Provided bridge-response information to help the engineering joint venture calibrate its structural models.
Challenge
Three distinct bridges in the RFK complex needed ambient-vibration characterization for engineering model calibration.
STRAAM approach
STRAAM measured the Harlem River lift bridge, Bronx Kill truss bridge, and main suspension bridge over ten field-testing days from May 20 to August 2, 2013.
Result
The work documented how the bridge complex responded and supplied information used to check the engineers’ models.
