Project Types: Response Analysis and Wind Regime Identification
STRAAM was contracted to provide Ambient Vibration Monitoring for the building with a view to assessing the integrity of the structure, system identification, identification of any areas of weakness and the calibration of a mathematical model in the absence of any drawings.
STRAAM conducted the ambient vibration survey and used the results to identify natural frequencies, mode shapes, and any anomalies in the building. In all cases the local traffic of the adjoining streets was used as the source of excitation.
The results were used to validate the model and to use the model for an assessment of the building and the possibility of adding three additional floors to have been valid.
