In the energy sector, there are many structures that are not typically assessed by companies working through conventional means. Because SG treats all structures as a system, the techniques using the dynamic response measured from ambient excitation can assess the performance of the structure. Structures such as cooling towers, multi-flue chimneys and lattice towers for overhead transmission can be assessed and a risk profile assembled. The response of such structures can seem daunting since the response is quite complex, however SG has considerable experience of measuring and assessing such structures.
