Construction

The act of constructing infrastructure (or deconstructing) causes a change to the environment, and in consequence may have an effect on surrounding structures or even on the interior space of the structure being constructed. STRAAM technology can be used to measure the effect on surrounding or adjacent structures and to advise on the effect that the construction has. This is particularly useful when activities such as tunneling occur, and can prevent disputes by identifying the cause and magnitude of any changes. The detailed analysis of the holistic behavior of the structure gives a wealth of information that is not obtainable using conventional monitoring techniques such as tilt measurement.
